Jenkins will direct the sequel from a script she's writing with Dave Callaham and Geoff Johns.

Wiig is one of our favorites, too.

Gadot is now the only other member of the "Wonder Woman 2" cast to be officially confirmed for the movie.

Wiig will take on the role of Cheetah, an iconic villain in the DC Comics world and one of Wonder Woman's fiercest foes.

Instead, the primary Cheetah for most comic book fans is the third, Barbara Ann Minerva, introduced in 1987's Wonder Woman (Vol. 2) No. 7 by George Perez and Len Wein.

"

"SO excited by what we have planned."

".

Confirmation comes to us by way of Patty Jenkins, who took to Twitter earlier this morning to make the casting official: Wiig will now star opposite Gal Gadot's Diana Prince in 2019, with filming expected to commence in two months' time. Cheetah's abilities include superhuman speed, incredible reaction time, strength, and durability.

You probably don't need another reason to be excited for the Wonder Woman sequel, but here's one anyway: Kristen Wiig is playing the supervillain!

Not much else is know about Wonder Woman 2 other than that it will be set during the Cold War 1980s.

She went on to play the Amazon warrior goddess in Wonder Woman and Justice League.

The character, a feline-esque adversary with super strength and speed, was first introduced in Wonder Woman No. 6 in 1943. I made Wonder Woman.
