It seems like only yesterday that they were chowing down on Tide pods in a quest for internet notoriety, but now they have found a new and bad viral trend to focus their social media presence on: The Condom Challenge. People attempting the condom-snorting challenge try to shove and inhale an unwrapped condom into one nostril, and then pull it back out through their mouth. This freakish challenge is nothing new; the earliest recording of a person snorting a condom was back in 2007.
A more recent report from 2016 found a woman suffered from appendicitis after she accidentally swallowed a condom during oral sex and a piece of it lodged in her appendix. It's the latest in a string of ill-conceived social media competitions, and we're here to remind you that condoms do have a place in your life, but it's not in your nose.
'As graphic as it is, we have to show parents because teens are going online looking for challenges and recreating them.
The challenge presents a serious risk to the health of anyone who performs it.
But doctors and school officials are urging young people not to take the challenge.
