It is notably reminiscent to 2015 when Lesnar used rumors of a return to the UFC to negotiate a new WWE deal.

Lesnar was expected to walk away from WWE after WrestleMania 34, but he instead re-signed with the professional wrestling promotion, and has been booked to defend his title April 27 in Saudi Arabia versus Roman Reigns inside a steel cage.

Last week, UFC president Dana White confirmed that Lesnar would be returning to his company, and it only led to speculation that Reigns would pin the Universal Champion - before The Beast Incarnate left the WWE for good.

WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon announced today that Universal Champion Brock Lesnar has re-signed with WWE.

For more on WrestleMania and Lesnar, check out WrestleNewz.

Lesnar informed USADA of his retirement from MMA in 2016 after failing two drug tests before and after his fight with Mark Hunt at UFC 200. He remains under UFC contract, according to White, but would need to serve a suspension once he re-enters the USADA testing pool if he does return to action.

'No, that (Lesnar fighting in the UFC) is not one-hundred percent, I mean, he's still under contract with the UFC, ' White said.

While we don't know what's in store for Lesnar's long-term future, we at least know that he's not done in WWE just yet, and that a return to the UFC will be happening before long.
