Police said the 34-year-old al-Batsh was hit with 14 bullets by the two assailants who shot from a motorbike as he was heading to a mosque for dawn prayers in a suburb near Kuala Lumpur.

"One of them has quite prominent facial features and ..."

Yesterday, the victim's younger brother, Dr Rami Al Batsh, 31, said his brother's body would be flown back to Gaza today after the completion of the documentation process.

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah on Monday said that Israel was behind the assassination of Hamas operative and Palestinian engineer Dr. "We are quite sure they will give the approval, but it's only a matter of time... we really need to wait".

Dan Diker from the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs told WIN that Hamas has indeed become an worldwide terrorist organization.

Some 500 people attended the funeral service of slain Palestinian lecturer Fadi Mohammed al-Batsh this afternoon.

He added that Mr Batsh was active in pro-Palestinian non-governmental organisations, describing him as an expert in electrical engineering and rocket-building.

"God willing, we will start a new life in Gaza", said Dr Fadi's widow, Ms Enas Batsh. "Never a rocket scientist or drone expert", Hafidzi, who worked with Al Batsh, told BenarNews on Saturday. The woman reportedly disappeared a day before the killing.

Israel's defence minister Avigdor Lieberman had appealed to Egypt to refuse the Palestinian request. Maybe in two to three days.

Tension has been high along border between Gaza and Israel amid Palestinian rallies demanding the return of refugees to their towns and villages in historical Palestine from which they were driven in 1948 to make way for the new state of Israel.

And while the government was always monitoring foreign agents, Ahmad Zahid said this was sometimes made hard when they use passports which have diplomatic relations with Malaysia. Haaretz reported that Hamas has recruited some 40 Palestinian students to serve as operatives on Malaysian campuses.

Malaysian officials have in recent years denied allegations by Israeli security services that Hamas operatives were training on Malaysian soil to carry out military operations against Israel.
