Facebook is launching a feature dubbed Clear History and perhaps the most shocking item is that it wasn't there before. Noting that people tell him all the time that they met their partner on Facebook. Like Facebook, though, Google says its services will perform worse without the data it uses to, for instance, help users auto-complete their searches. This sparked a campaign urging Facebook members to leave the site and calls for tighter regulation over user data, especially as Facebook makes most of its revenue from advertising that is targeted at individual users based on their online activity.

Looking to divert some of the attention being paid to Facebook's failings, Zuckerberg pointed to the good that has come from this massive web of digital friendships spanning the globe, from disaster relief to blood donations.

Facebook's Clear History feature will be discussed in further detail at the F8 developer expo, which takes place on Tuesday and Wednesday at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California.

Oculus Go costs £199 and has more than 1,000 games, apps and experiences available, all the while being usable completely wirelessly, with screen and computing power built directly into the headset.

Spaces was announced with support for the Oculus Rift VR headset; owners of the HTC Vive headset gained Facebook Spaces compatibility in December.

Zuckerberg is also likely to talk up new stuff, including AR and virtual reality. He said the best part of Facebook was what people did together, and that creating a sense of community was important.

What are your views on this Facebook Clear History feature?

Facebook Inc chief executive officer Mark Zuckerberg said on Tuesday the social network is building a new privacy control called "clear history" to allow users to delete browsing history.

That is, if you want.

He said the service will be opt-in and, to preserve people's privacy, not viewable to users' friends. The dating feature is set to roll out later this year.

Zuckerberg also said the dating feature will not suggests users' friends to date. The app is still in development, so there's no release date yet.

He also reiterated that Facebook is investing a lot in security and in strengthening its systems so they can't be exploited to meddle with elections.

For Zuckerberg, that's meant repeated apologies to users and lawmakers, two days of congressional questioning about whether and how the company protects its users' privacy.

And such a service could give Facebook a whole new avenue for growing its advertising business, said Ali Mogharabi, an analyst with Morningstar Investment Service. Those include how much of the company's revenue comes from Myanmar and if there was any link between the USA elections and the 2017 purge of fake accounts.

It's normally a sympathetic audience.
