Senior British and German officials have stepped up efforts to persuade U.S. President Donald Trump to remain a participant in the 2015 landmark nuclear deal with Iran.

In a speech on Sunday in Sabzevar, Rouhani asserted that Tehran is ready for any U.S. withdrawal from the deal and that Iran rejects any new deal on the weapons and the Iranian missile program, affirming that there will be no negotiations about Iran's defense programs with any party.

Trump has strongly criticised the agreement, which he calls "insane".

Iranian President Hassan Rowhani warned Sunday that if the USA quits the nuclear deal then Washington will regret it "like never before".

"Anyone who says there is nothing new in the material we showed has not seen the material", Netanyahu said, days after exposing Israel's acquisition of a huge archive of stolen Iranian nuclear plans, mostly relating to a covert bomb-making project that was halted in 2003.

The nuclear deal was signed during the USA administration of President Barack Obama, and it provides Tehran with relief from sanctions in return for curbs on its nuclear program.

"On so numerous world's foreign policy challenges the United Kingdom and USA are in lockstep", Boris Johnson said in a statement, citing the poisoning in Britain of Russian double-agent Sergei Skripal, and opposition to the use of chemical weapons in Syria and to the development of nuclear weapons in North Korea.

Trump and his Middle East allies, particularly Israel, argue the agreement was too weak and must be replaced with a more permanent arrangement and supplemented by controls on Iran's missile programme.

Macron reiterated that he wants to maintain the Iranian nuclear accord, while "complementing" it with talks on Iran's ballistic program and regional activities, according to an interview he gave to Le Journal du Dimanche.

Even though he opposed the bargain from 2015, when it had been signed by President Obama, he said today really isn't the time to drift off from this agreement.

"If you don't violate a risky deal, it doesn't make it less unsafe", said Netanyahu, whose country is believed to be the Middle East's sole nuclear power, though it has never acknowledged it.

The agreement was also approved by China, Russia, Germany, France, Britain and the European Union. What happens next if the USA pulls out?

"Only Iran would gain from abandoning the restrictions on its nuclear program", Johnson said.

Now, with the deadline to renew the deal or make a decision on it otherwise fast approaching, USA allies that are part of the deal believe Trump should not scrap it - since it is the best hope to prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons. "My view is. that he will get rid of this deal on his own, for domestic reasons", Macron said at the time. Iran would certainly react furiously, but it probably would not want to pull out of the deal and be blamed for its collapse - including having global sanctions (far more powerful than unilateral United States sanctions) reimposed.

Rouhani added: "Trump must know that our people are united, the Zionist regime [Israel] must know that our people are united".
