After setting up of the required details, the payments feature can be used for booking appointments at restaurants and salons.

WhatsApp recently got the payments feature, however, it is very different from that of Instagram Payments feature.

The function has started to pop up for some in the United Kingdom and USA, prompting speculation that it is part of a test run for a future global roll-out.

Shoppers on Instagram are now redirected off-app to a business' website to process any payments. The sticker feature is not yet made available to the users for development reasons, it will be enabled in the next releases, according to a report by WAbeta Info.

Previous year in March, Instagram had made its intention clear of allowing bookings for its new application services directly through its login profile.

The photo and video sharing platform, which in November celebrated reaching 25 million listed business profiles, outlined its plans to "continue evolving business profiles" in March 2017 by rolling out the ability for users to book a service directly from a business' profile.

Facebook-owned Instagram has added in-app payments option that lets you make direct payments from the app. Some of its clients' Instagram Pages now offer this native payment for booking. The native in-app payment feature combined with in-app purchases can, therefore, be more easily accessible and attractable for all the users. To start using the feature, users are required to register a debit or credit card in their profile and then set up a security pin. What remains to be seen, is if Instagram will also introduce peer-to-peer payments similar to Messenger in the future.

India is crowded with the UPI based payments app like PayTM, PhonePe, Tez, BHIM, SBI Pay etc. and now WhatsApp Payments! However, WhatsApp has around 1.5 billion active users per month, which is almost twice what Messenger has, and that provides a great potential to Facebook's ad revenue.

At Facebook's F8 conference 2018, Mark Zuckerberg announced to video calling and AR stickers support to Instagram in the days to come.

"As 800 million use Instagram each month to discover and follow their passions, more and more people are using it to connect with businesses they love", Instagram said in a blog post celebrating reaching 25 million listed businesses last November.

Now, online shopping in Instagram would offer great experience to buyers.
