UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Nickolay Mladenov on Tuesday condemned the latest round of violence in Gaza.

The Hamas leadership conveyed a message to Israel's Defense Forces following Monday's clashes at the Gaza border, offering to reduce the numbers of protesters in return for fewer Israeli air strikes on Hamas positions in the enclave, local media reported on Wednesday. There is no justification for the killing.

"I call on all to join me in condemning in the strongest possible terms the actions that have led to the loss of many lives in Gaza", he said.

Thousands of Gaza residents turned out on Tuesday for the funerals of Palestinians killed by Israeli troops a day earlier.

. One Israeli soldier was wounded.

It is considered to be the deadliest day in Gaza since the 2014 Israel-Gaza clashes.

Israel has a responsibility to calibrate its use of force, to not use lethal forces, except as a last resort under imminent threat of death or serious injury, he said.

According to the Times of Israel, European foreign ministries on Monday slammed the USA decision to move its embassy to Jerusalem, saying "it violates global law, is unwise and is likely to exacerbate tensions, shortly before the embassy's dedication ceremony began in Jerusalem".

Eventually, pro-Palestinian demonstrators took to the streets. Since the beginning of protests on March 30, more than 100 people have been killed, including 13 children.

Pierce was echoed by Bolivia's envoy Sasha Llorenty who said that "the unilateral decision by the United States to move its embassy to Jerusalem does nothing but inflame spirits".

He says Israeli state officials do not need visas to enter South Africa. "The status of Jerusalem should be determined in a negotiated settlement between Israel and Palestinians, and Jerusalem should ultimately be the shared capital of the Israeli and Palestinian states", she pointed out.

The embassy move, which dramatically underscored U.S. recognition of Jerusalem as Israel s capital, infuriated the Palestinians and was widely criticized, but on Tuesday the Security Council proved unable, once again, to reach consensus.
