A couple in upstate NY sued their own son, who still lives at home, to have him evicted - and they won.

While not giving reasons why they want their son out of the house, they did tell him to get a job and move his broken-down Volkswagen Passat in the letters. One note included $1,100 and offered help to find him an apartment.

"I don't see why they can't just, you know, wait a little bit for me to leave the house", Mr Rotondo argued, as his parents looked on, sitting with their lawyer. You will not be allowed to return (sic),"Syracuse.com quotes from the first eviction letter sent on February 2".

An article by Syracuse that the only way to have Michael removed from the family home was for the Rotondos to file an ejectment proceeding.

He said six months was "a reasonable amount of time for someone who has been depending on persons for support".

In fact, they say they have even given him several written notices to leave the property.

Greenwood called the son's demand for six more months "outrageous".

Rotondo also said things with his parents are now very adversarial, and he intends to write a letter to their attorney asking for three more months to pack up his stuff and get out.

There Michael answered their questions, telling them he occupies a bedroom in his parents' home, does not speak to them and is not ready to leave home.

Rotondo was frustrated with the judge and said in court Tuesday that he didn't think the judge fully read the case.

Rotondo's parents, Christina and Mark Rotonda, took the unusual step of turning to the court after their son ignored repeated requests to move out. Rotondo lost custody of his son previous year, according to The New York Post.

Rotondo said he intends to appeal.

"That's why I'm not the CEO of a big company", Rotondo said about his responsibility as a parent.

The judge also asked for adult protective services because he is concerned about the strained relationship, according to WSTM. And I'm expecting that I will be able to. "I'm not dragging my business into my business", he said with a smile. When asked about that further, however, he would only say: "My business is my business".
