"Guys I did something unforgiveable so do not defend me", Barr wrote, after retweeting many fans who had been defending her.

Barr also said her firing "worked out" because she "would leave when they started to try to censor me".

ABC has canceled the hugely - popular "Roseanne" reboot over racist comments made by the star via her Twitter account. Barr described Valerie Jarrett (an advisor to the Obama administration) as a combination of the Muslim Brotherhood and Planet of the Apes. Faulkner states, "I don't understand it to be anything other than free speech...and it is extremely offensive but it is just that".

Both Barr and her TV character, Roseanne Conner, voiced support for Trump. "And with that said, I have an idea that I think makes this work for everyone", he explained.

The president said that Iger "never called President Donald J. Trump to apologize for the awful statements made and said about me on ABC".

Embattled comedian Roseanne Barr blamed Ambien use for her racist tweet on Tuesday, in which she compared Valerie Jarrett, a former adviser to President Barack Obama, to an ape. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, there had been rumors that another network may try to snag the show following its cancellation at ABC.

The Rev. Al Sharpton, who appeared alongside Jarrett in the MSNBC town hall, had harsh words for Barr and for Trump, who he said had long engaged in "dog-whistling" to racists.

The much-awaited 10th season's two-episode opener attracted 18.2 million viewers in preliminary Nielsen ratings, making it the season's top premiere.

Valerie Jarrett did not seek the spotlight when she served as a senior adviser to former U.S. president Barack Obama, but has found herself at the centre of a media storm in recent days.

"I will not be returning to @RoseanneOnABC", she wrote on Twitter. I feel so empowered by @IAmWandaSykes, Channing Dungey and anyone at ABC standing up for morals and abuse of power. She repeatedly says that she blames herself, not the Ambien, despite earlier tweets to the contrary.

"Wow! unreal", Barr tweeted back.
