One Apple's upcoming iOS 12 features is Screen Time, which creates weekly reports that show which mobile apps dominate your attention in addition to letting you limit the amount of time spent on them. Resetting Face ID will remove all the data Face ID has learned about your face over time.

He also said Apple would crack down on so-called "fingerprinting", in which data companies identify specific devices by creating a unique fingerprint based on a device's particular configuration settings, installed fonts and plug-ins.

Another new feature of iOS 12 is focused on Apple's digital assistant, Siri. Users can also set time limits for apps and when time is up, they are notified.

A new feature called Shortcuts allows app to integrate themselves into Siri.

These new FaceTime features work on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Notifications, on the other hand, will be more interactive - for example, they will let you respond to reservations or pay for rides directly from within the Watch version of the app. The format will also get support in Adobe's Creative Cloud suite of apps for professional photographers, videographers and designers.

Finally, Apple is improving the screenshot functionality of MacOS, taking a screenshot will now pop up a window like that in iOS which will allow you to markup and edit file.

One report says that Apple will reveal a "Digital Health" feature for iOS 12 today. Even if users click to share an item, they will get a prompt with an option to prevent subsequent tracking.

From iOS and augmented reality, to tech addiction and fitness, here's a recap of everything Apple announced at its WWDC 2018 keynote.

Apple took its privacy complaints against Facebook all the way to its biggest event of the year-the Worldwide Developer Conference, also known as WWDC.

A new tab "For you" is coming to the iOS 12 Photos app, filled with personalised suggestions on how to improve and share your pictures. Other iOS favorites, such as FaceTime and Animoji, will also undergo transformations alongside key updates to the Do Not Disturb function.

Meanwhile in January, two of Apple's major shareholders, Jana Partners LLC and the California State Teachers' Retirement System, who own a $US2 billion stake in Apple, published an open letter asking the company to address the issue of phone addiction among children.

A standout improvement coming to iOS 12 is upgrades to its augmented reality functionality.

Apple also rolled out group video chat sessions with up to 32 users, putting it in direct competition with companies such as Cisco Systems Inc (CSCO.O) and Microsoft Corp's (MSFT.O) Skype.

These buttons can track users around the internet, as can some comment widgets, which Apple is also blocking in the update. Users are able to set parameters for when the bedtime mode starts and ends in the control center.

You'll notice when finding an initial point from which to measure, the app will suggest a place with a larger/bolder white dot and haptic feedback.
