Press aide who mocked McCain no longer working at White House

White House aide who made morbid joke about Sen. John Mc Cain leaves Trump administration Trump aide who joked about ‘dying’ John McCain leaves White House under mysterious circumstances

Citing "three sources with knowledge of the matter", CNN disclosed that Kelly Sadler, who worked in the Communications Office, was relieved of her duties Tuesday. John McCain, was quietly let go from the Trump administration on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, Conway would not say why Sadler no longer works at the White House, telling CNN she does not "feel comfortable commenting on personal and personnel at the same time when the individuals involved are not here to speak about it". The White House would not condemn her remark and was said to have assured her that she would not lose her job over the remark.

Lindsey Graham, said the White House should have done more to address the inappropriate comment.

McCain, 81, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer previous year. However, the White House refused to condemn it, and instead issued a statement: "We respect Senator McCain's service to our nation and he and his family are in our prayers during this hard time".

McCain's wife, Cindy, tweeted to Sadler saying, "May I remind you my husband has a family, 7 children and 5 grandchildren".

Meghan McCain told viewers she had yet to receive an apology. "I did not receive that".

Sadler and the White House received widespread backlash for the remark, but the White House never publicly condemned it.

Conway would not comment on why Sadler was ousted from her role as a special assistant to Trump, which involved compiling and disseminating talking points to the administration's allies. This angered Schlapp, who is married to Matt Schlapp, head of the American Conservative Union.

Sadler's comment spurred an intensive effort inside the West Wing to seek out leakers.

Trump recently told people close to him that it's not just the junior people in the press or communications shop whom he suspects of leaking information, leading some Republicans close to the White House to wonder whether the reorganization could also affect more senior-level staff.
