Uruguay vs Saudi Arabia Playing 11

Uruguay striker Luis Suarez Uruguay striker Luis Suarez can help fire his side to victory

Luis Suarez of Uruguay celebrates after scoring his team's first goal during the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia group A match between Uruguay and Saudi Arabia at Rostov Arena on June 20, 2018 in Rostov-on-Don, Russia. Anyway, he was off his game in the first match and Uruguay as a whole were so-so against Egypt, needing a late victor from Jose Gimenez to win by the single goal. Defeat against Uruguay would nearly certainly see them eliminated from the competition, although they also play against Egypt in their final group game.

But Group A favourite Uruguay is still widely expected to clobber Saudi Arabia, the second-lowest World Cup team in the Federation Internationale de Football Association rankings at No. 67.

Suarez tapped in midway through the first half after keeper Mohammed Al-Owais failed to grab the ball on a corner.

"This World Cup is proving that what matters most is the result, and we're very proud to have reached the last 16 for the third time in a row".

Maybe Saudi Arabia isn't the worst team at the World Cup?

A win over Saudi Arabia would secure two-time winners Uruguay's place in the last 16 of the World Cup and Tabarez will opt for a wealth of experienced heads, with wingers Cristian Rodriguez and Carlos Sanchez set to be promoted to the starting line-up after both coming off the bench against Egypt.

Saudi Arabia coach Juan Antonio Pizzi said he was not ready to quit despite the early exit and 5-0 opening loss to Russian Federation.

The South American side are set to field a side containing seven players aged 31 or over in their Group A clash in Rostov-on-Don. Uruguay opened the tournament with a 1-0 win over Egypt.

Cavani almost made it 2-0 for Uruguay with a solo run through the opposing defence but his attempt was blocked by Saudi Arabia goalkeeper Mohammed Alowais. And unusually, Barcelona striker Luis Suarez missed three golden chances to score.

Saudi Arabia also had to play most of the match without trusted midfielder Taisser Aljassam, who limped off before halftime with an injury after lunging forward for a challenge.
