Melania 'deliberatelty' wore 'I don't care' jacket to meet child migrants

As the first lady boarded her plane from Andrews Air Force Base, she wore an olive green jacket.

It's safe to say a $39 (£29) Zara jacket emblazoned with "I really don't care, do u?" looks unusual in the wardrobe of a US First Lady - especially a former model known for her designer taste. After all, she wore the jacket again deplaning later at Andrews - wore it unapologetically knowing all the hoo-ha it had caused, the confusion and umbrage, the distraction from what she said was her core message of compassion. "I Really Don't Care, Do U?" neatly sums up the apathy that many feel both Ivanka and Melania Trump display underneath rhetoric that positions themselves as public figures that see themselves first as wives and mothers.

'Melania has learned how dishonest they are, and she truly no longer cares!' On Thursday, First Lady of the United States Melania Trump made a visit to a children's shelter in Texas but not before making a sartorial statement that made headlines nearly instantly.

It was not the first time Melania Trump raised eyebrows for her fashion choices when out in the field: past year she wore needle-thin high stiletto heels to observe the devastation wrought by Hurricane Harvey. The first lady has spearheaded a "Be Best" initiative, whose primary aim is to promote healthy behaviors among children, but child health experts have said that the practice of taking children from their parents has detrimental effects to their long-term health. Colbert said. "What was her first choice, a jacket that says "womp womp?" After today's important visit to Texas, I hope this isn't what the media is going to choose to focus on", Grisham said. She took it off during the visit itself and then, despite hours of news attention, put it back on for the return trip.

President Trump has been under fire for his immigration policies as part of which the children of immigrant families are left behind while the parents are termed as the "prisoners".

The choice of jacket sparked outrage on social media.

Her husband, Donald has been criticised around the world for isolating thousands of children from their families in detention centres.

She wore the coat as she visited a facility housing migrant children separated from their parents.

"I would also like to ask you how I can help these children to reunite with their families as quickly as possible". Maybe it was meant to tell everyone that she was not part of forming said policy, or not responsible for conveying everyone's outrage about said policy.

"Because in the middle of the worst moral scandal in recent memory, so bad that her husband backed down for the first time in memory, people who were supposedly on her side let her get on a plane with a jacket that said I really don't care do you?"
