The video prompted an instant backlash online, where many posters commented on a white woman appearing to call police on a young African American girl.

Ettel later told the Huffington Post that the mother and daughter were "screaming" about the water they were selling. "Just the fact that she called the police on a child, that's evil, but to call on a child of color, knowing that people have been killing black kids". "Yeah, and um, illegally selling water without a permit", Ettel responds.

Naturally, when Jordan's mother, Erin Austin, caught wind of what was going down, she got out her phone camera to record the wildly uneccessary badgering of a child. "And I said, 'Please, I'm trying to work".

Ausin said she was convinced the question was racially motivated, which is why she started recording Ettel's alleged call to police.

Ettel told the Chronicle that she only pretended to call police after failed appeals to building security and a confrontation with the girl's mother. The woman filming approaches her.

Meanwhile, the mother of the eight-year-old girl has promised to press charges against Ettel for harassment.

Austin said she was "overwhelmed" by the positivity and support her family has received. She also babbled, "They were screaming about what they were selling".

In the viral video, the girl's older cousin can be seen following Ettel, who was walking away while talking on the phone.

So the young entrepreneur grabbed a white cooler, some ice and a few bottles of water, taking advantage of Friday's foot traffic outside her SoMa apartment and the San Francisco sun to make a few quick bucks.

"So my little cousin was selling water and didn't have a permit so this lady made a decision to call the cops on an 8 year old", says a Twitter caption on the video.

She said the incident left her "heart wrenched" and acknowledged in an interview with SF Gate that she regretted her actions.

Now named #PermitPatty by no-chill Black Twitter, Ettel faces off with the vigilant mom who goes by @ladyesowavy, on Instagram.

An Oakland dispensary also announced it was no longer selling TreatWell, saying in a statement that even though it was a "bestselling" product, "integrity is always before profits".

"I tried to be polite but I was stern", Ettel told NBC's "Today" program.

"Now I'm starting to think she did it on goal", Jordan said, "because I think she doesn't care about people's skin colors, because she doesn't care about people's lives except for hers". She said that she did not accept Ettel's apology. With waters fetching more than $5 inside the hot Bay Area stadium, community sellers are an essential part of the gameday experience. It was completely stress-related, and I should have never confronted her.
