Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin are reported to be engaged, according to celebrity news website TMZ.

Justin Bieber put a ring on Hailey Baldwin, according to reports. "Justin has been extremely happy these past few weeks", a source told PEOPLE exclusively of the whirlwind engagement.

Hailey recently gushed over her beau when addressing the first time they had split up. "This might seem sudden, but they know each other very well", the source continued.

He also tagged Bieber's parents Jeremy Bieber and Pattie Mallette and wrote "Congrats" while sharing a Bible verse. "Excited for the next chapter!" - which fans believe is in response to the engagement news.

The couple had previously dated and broken up before getting back together early in the summer.

For his part, Bieber told GQ magazine in February 2016 that he wanted to be careful not to rush things with Baldwin in case she ended up being the one.

Bieber apparently chose to make the romantic occasion a public affair, as he got down on bended knee while at a resort restaurant, where guests had been enjoying a little salsa dancing.

It's no secret that Bieber and Gomez's years-long, on-again, off-again romance has taken a toll on the songstress. "It's really hard to fix wounds like that".

Stephen is also father to 25-year-old daughter Alaia with wife Kennya, who he married in 1990.

The romantic status of the Canadian-born pop singer, one of the world's biggest-selling musical acts, is of acute interest to his fans. "It's so hard. I just don't want to hurt her".

Metro.co.uk has contacted reps for Justin and Hailey for comment.

"I feel like I won a contest, it's so sick", Davidson said to host Jimmy Fallon.
