Danny Green wrote heartfelt thank you to Spurs after trade to Raptors

The Raptors are a business, and with this trade they have angered many of their customers in a visceral way.

Early Wednesday morning, the Spurs and Raptors came to terms on a deal that sent Leonard and Danny Green to Toronto in exchange for DeMar DeRozan, Jakob Poeltl, and a protected 2019 first-round pick.

"It gives me chills to think about how loud and electric this arena can get".

Spurs fans are excited about DeRozan, but is he even an All-Star in the West?

"With DeMar coming to San Antonio, I couldn't be happier", he said. "How many trades can you recall where both of primary players involved are furious with the move?"

"That status can not be gained in any other team in the league, unless you're a player like LeBron who transcends basketball overall, regardless of where he plays". What make things worse is, DeRozan showed his loyalty to the franchise in 2016 when he didn't even bother to meet with any clubs during free agency and chose to re-up with the team, only to be traded less than two years later. Under this rule, the Raptors could refuse to allow Leonard to leave until they see fit.

Even after the dismissal of Dwane Casey as head coach and the departure of LeBron from the East, the best that could be said about the Raptors was that, maybe, they would look a like a team that didn't suddenly throw up all over itself at playoff time.

"DeMar agreed to not only help us pick the books, but then he suggested that would it would be great if he could meet with all of the kids". He took pictures with them and signed autographs.

In wake of the deal, several current and former National Basketball Association players have also weighed in with their opinions on the trade, many of whom showed support for DeRozan, who allegedly met with Toronto brass in Las Vegas during summer league and was told he would not be traded.

DeRozan has spent his entire career in Toronto, last season he had his best season statistically with averages of 23 points, 3.9 rebounds, 5.2 assists. When he fired Casey, it was the first time the team president, who has led a charmed existence in Toronto, made a move that put much scrutiny squarely on himself.

DeRozan had a special connection to the organization because when he was young his mother, Diane, was diagnosed with Lupus - an autoimmune disease that attacks healthy tissue and organs. With that chapter over, Pop wants to focus on the new players acquired from Toronto. "He's been here quite a while and was a big part of what we do on and off the court", he said.
