Despite Chen's absence, the show's other hosts still addressed the issue.

Julie Chen, 48, has remained radio silent about her husband Les Moonves stepping down as CBS' chairman on September 9 amid sexual harassment and workplace misconduct allegations.

The 48-year-old appeared to go off script as it was the first time she has used the last name Moonves on the show.

Although the journalist took a hiatus from The Talk, on Thursday, she returned to the network to host Big Brother.

Many on Twitter noticed Chen's subtle support for her husband.

Julie Chen is standing by her man. "Julie is completely heartbroken by the humiliating allegations against her husband Les which have preceded his leaving CBS". Chen has been MIA this week during her day job on "The Talk", saying in a statement that she was spending time with family.

One person tweeted, "Now THAT was a statement ..."

"I have known my husband, Leslie Moonves, since the late '90s, and I have been married to him for nearly 14 years", Chen wrote. "I've NEVER heard her say "Moonves" for anything".

Chen has remained relatively quiet regarding allegations made against Moonves.

She posted a photo on Twitter of her holding a "Big Brother" reading card to tease her appearance on the episode.

On Sunday, Moonves was sacked from his long-running position at CBS after new allegations surfaced of inappropriate behavior, including assault and sexual misconduct. Over the weekend, the New Yorker published another story with six new women coming forward to allege that Moonves had exhibited improper behavior toward them, including sexual misconduct, harassment and retaliation. "I fully support my husband and stand behind him and his statement".

In a statement late Sunday announcing his departure, Moonves denied the allegations.
