Red Dead Online beta roll out starts tomorrow for some
28 November, 2018, 02:41
After weeks of teasing and small sneak peeks from the team over at Rockstar Games, the Early Access beta for Red Dead Online finally kicks off today and will continue to roll out from now until November 30th.
Rockstar added, "With the gameplay of Red Dead Redemption 2 as its foundation, Red Dead Online transforms the vast and deeply detailed landscapes, cities, towns, and habitats of Red Dead Redemption 2 into a new, living online world ready to be shared by multiple players". On Wednesday November 28th, everyone who played the game on launch day (October 26th) can get involved. Named as Make It Count, it is a 32-player Red Dead Online mode where you fight to be the last one standing, using weapons to survive in a shrinking circle.
For those who belong to the two groups in the middle, you'll need to be signed into your PSN account and your Rockstar Social Club account.
It always seemed likely such a fighting format would be included in the online version of Red Dead Redemption 2, given the popularity of battle royale variations on other games, such as Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4's Blackout mode.
Red Dead Online Beta Release Date & Time Announced, Access Being Granted in Waves
Nearly exactly a month after the launch of Red Dead Redemption 2, the game's online mode is live. Players, including ourselves are getting thrown out of the servers back to the main menu. To check out the page and leave your own feedback, you can head here to Rockstar's support page. However, the developer did provide a couple of new details on what you can do in Red Dead Online beta.
For months now there's been rumours of a Battle Royale mode in Red Dead Redemption II's multiplayer and now it's been proven true, sort of.
The Verge reports that you can also "tailor your abilities to suit your playstyle" and even form your own posse of seven players.
In fact, the staggered launch means that over the course of the next four days, the Red Dead Redemption 2 multiplayer mode will have four completely separate launch windows.
