Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been charged for failing to control their players in Sunday's north London derby in the Premier League, England's Football Association said on Monday.

Metropolitan Police confirmed to Omnisport that seven arrests were made, including one for throwing a missile onto the field of play, during Sunday's Premier League game at Emirates Stadium.

"Behavior such as this is completely unacceptable and the supporter in question will be issued with a ban", a Spurs spokesman said in a statement.

There were also six arrests for public order offences - at least two of which are believed to be Arsenal supporters who lit smoke canisters during the match.

Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang had set the Gunners on their way with the opener from the penalty spot in the 10th minute, but goals from Eric Dier and Harry Kane put Tottenham 2-1 up.

The Gabon forward went on to equalise, with Arsenal wrapping up the points through Alexandre Lacazette and Lucas Torreira strikes.

The team is now positioned in fourth place in the Premier League, ahead of Tottenham on goal difference.

"We respect them a lot individually and collectively, and we know it's a very hard match away".

"But above all it is three points, like against Bournemouth.

If he plays like [in the north London derby], it's the best for him and the best for us".

The England global was booked after celebrating Spurs players clashed with the home side's substitutes.

"But of course, the way you concede, then the belief of the opponent, who was fresh... it is not an excuse but when you concede 3-2 you need energy to come back".

"The ref said he gave me the yellow card because it was because of me that the whole thing started".

"He's a very good player and a very good person, I had a very good experience with him in Valencia at the beginning of his career".

"Their players approached us". At the moment, I don't know if he can play in Manchester. But it doesn't matter.
